The principal role of Avonbrook is to carefully select specific education projects in the developing world that will receive our funding and long-term support to ensure that a real and lasting difference is made to the community. The most effective way of achieving this is by establishing a partnership with a local or non-governmental organisation that has an in-depth knowledge of the country and particular requirements of the project.
Working in partnership to achieve results that mean
something in the real world.
Avonbrook’s Grant Allocation Committee, which is made up of our Trustees, allocates funds using a transparent and objective selection process that ensures that each project addresses one or both of Avonbrook’s specific aims:
- to support the recruitment, training and retention of professional teachers
- to aim to improve vocational and post-school education and training for children.
Avonbrook is no longer accepting new grant applications as we look to consolidate our work with our existing partners.
However, we remain interested in the work of our fellow NGOs and are always interested in hearing from others about their work and how we may work together. While we cannot respond to funding requests, we are happy to see how applicants with knowledge and expertise in our field maybe able to assist our existing partners.
